Energy vampires do exist, they may not kill you but they can derail your business and your time. You know the type. Some people call them whiners. They only see obstacles and can always find more obstacles.

For example you have a prospect that says they want to join your network marketing business but don’t have the money right now. That’s ok if they are saving their money or waiting for payday. However, you’ll meet some people who seem to always have a problem. They go on about how bad things are, what happened in the past. How they can never get ahead.

I understand that we all go through rough patches but the difference is how we look at it and what we’re willing to do to get back on track. Some people never take risks even though that risk may be bring them great returns. Comfort can be a friend or an enemy. Comfort in our situations even if it’s not how we want to live, can make our lives stagnant or “stuck”.

In the end you have to ask yourself if the person you’re talking with is moving forward. It doesn’t have to be in great big leaps but one step at a time. Your time is important, you can only help those who truly want to helped. Emotionally, mentally and financially.

But here’s the thing he had no idea what I was doing or what my plan was or anything about me for that matter (or cared to know). He just made his own assumptions and that was that. You know what? That’s just fine. My job isn’t to convince people that what I’m doing is the best way to reach my goals. I certainly don’t feel the need to defend network marketing.

Don’t waste your energy talking to people about your network marketing opportunity if they’re not willing to listen. Not everyone is going to want what you have to offer. Devoting yourself to “convincing people” is just going to wear you out, get you frustrated and lead you down the wrong path. Somebody p*ss you off? Forget about it!

Now maybe that young guy had a plan for his future or maybe he’s having too much fun to worry about his future. It doesn’t matter his life doesn’t affect mine and vice versa. Residual, passive or recurring income is where you do the work once, do it right and get paid over and over. We’ve all heard of Elvis, he wrote songs a long time ago, he did the work once and still gets paid for that work. Of course his daughter gets the money because Elvis is dead (though some may argue that point).

How about Stephen King? He’s still getting paid for books he wrote 10 and 20 years ago. Ok so maybe you can’t sing like Elvis or write like Stephen King but people like you and me who have no talent can still create residual income through network marketing.

You do the work once and you do it right. You do that by sponsoring people and creating retail customers. You find people who are just as passionate as you are about creating income or about the products. Let’s say in April you make $500 in residual income well when May rolls around guess what you start off with $500 dollars because you already did the work once and you did it right.

It may take a few weeks, a few months or a year to build that amount of residual income but would that $500 make a difference if it was coming in month after month? Network marketing isn’t for everyone but it’s the easiest way for the average person to start their own business and build a residual income and even one day live the life they’ve always dreamed of.
