Have you ever spent time with someone and walked away feeling drained, like you just ran a marathon or watched a depressing movie? I remember a movie from way back called Life Force. Aliens were discovered that turned out to drain the life force out of humans. Energy vampires.
Energy vampires do exist, they may not kill you but they can derail your business and your time. You know the type. Some people call them whiners. They only see obstacles and can always find more obstacles.
For example you have a prospect that says they want to join your network marketing business but don’t have the money right now. That’s ok if they are saving their money or waiting for payday. However, you’ll meet some people who seem to always have a problem. They go on about how bad things are, what happened in the past. How they can never get ahead.
I understand that we all go through rough patches but the difference is how we look at it and what we’re willing to do to get back on track. Some people never take risks even though that risk may be bring them great returns. Comfort can be a friend or an enemy. Comfort in our situations even if it’s not how we want to live, can make our lives stagnant or “stuck”.
In the end you have to ask yourself if the person you’re talking with is moving forward. It doesn’t have to be in great big leaps but one step at a time. Your time is important, you can only help those who truly want to helped. Emotionally, mentally and financially.
